Jesus’ Promise to Priests
for Divine Mercy Sunday
Jesus wants
the priests to preach about His Mercy on the first Sunday
after Easter. He says, “Tell
My priests that hardened sinners will repent on hearing
their words when they speak about My unfathomable mercy,
about the compassion I have for them in My Heart. To
priests who proclaim and extol My mercy, I will give
wondrous power; I will anoint their words and touch
the hearts of those to whom they will speak.”
(Diary - Divine Mercy in My Soul, 1521)
When
St. Faustina’s confessor had the Divine Mercy
Image painted for the first time, it was set up outside
of a church to be venerated by the townspeople. St.
Faustina was present, and she said that when the priest
began to preach about the Divine Mercy, she saw Jesus
come alive in the Image. The rays from His pierced side
shone from His heart and reflected on the hearts of
all those present. But she noted that they did not all
reflect equally, because only WE can open up to receive
the grace that God wants to give us. |
